Dubrovnik Airport is one of the oldest Balkan airports, first mentioned in 1936 year. At that time, the airport was located in Gruda, Konavle. After the end of the Second World War, the airport was moved to new location, in small place Cilipi, where it is still located today. Today it is a brand new and modern airport, which fits to one metropolis of European tourism.


In the year 2017, Dubrovnik Airport Cilipi served a total of 2,323,000 passengers, and in 2018, the number would be over two and a half million. Croatia Airlines, Easy Jet, Jet2Com, Vueling Airlines, Austrian Airlines and Thomson Airways are among the companies which transport the biggest number of passengers.

AIRPORT PARKING is available 24 hours daily, for passenger cars and for buses.  At a large, main parking place, up to 15 minutes is free. Every next hour costs about 1.5 euros. In the case you lost your parking card, you will be charged a penalty of 60 euros. The airport staff is not responsible for any damage to the vehicle, and they are not responsible for theft of the car. Bus parking costs about 6 Euros per hour.

AIRPORT HALL offers refreshments in their cafe bars. Whether you're leaving, or you've just landed, there are two cafes, one in the outgoing and incoming terminal. The Croatian currency is Croatian Kuna. Payment can be made only in Croatian Kuna, and it is best to change the money in the exchange office in the hall immediately after landing. If during your stay you did not spend all your money, you can change it again in the currency you want in the exchange office located in the outgoing terminal. If you need a bank, the branch office of OTP bank is open on weekdays from 08:00 to 14:00. h. On Saturday bank is working from 08:00 to 12:00. Several tourist and car rental agencies offers their services, if you have not already booked it before. In airport hall you can find this rental companies: Avis, Sixt, Hertz, Budget, International, Bingo, Dollar-Thrifty, Uni-Rent, Peugeot and a couple of others. Protecting your luggage by wrapping it in a plastic foil is the best way to keep your bags clean while transporting. Also, this way your bags will stay dry if you are traveling in rainy weather.

BUS TRANSPORT from the airport is organized only to the city. If you have time, you can wait for all passengers to go out and take a bus to the city at a price of 40 Kuna per person. Buses drive to the main bus station in Dubrovnik and to the old town. If you are not accommodated in the vicinity, this is not a smart choice for traveling, because again you would have to take a cab in the city.

OFFICIAL TAXI SERVICE at Dubrovnik airport is located in front of the main arrival gate. After you collect your luggage and get out, you can find official airport providers waiting in the line in front of the building. A couple of taxi drivers are waiting for clients there, but the most of them is parked at taxi stand behind the line. If you didn’t schedule your transportation online, you have to negotiate the price with them.
